Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment Study of Tourism Development "Atalanti Hills", Phtiotida Region
The study examines the impacts on several environmental parameters from the implementation of the Integrated Tourist Development "Atalanti Hills". The study includes the following: - The non technical description of the whole SEA study, -The determination of the purpose and the goals of the Plan, - The alternative solutions of the Plan, that they were examined according to their environmental impacts, -The technical description of the Plan, -The description of the existing environmental condition of the area of study and the implementation area (eg biodervisity, water resources, etc), -The assessment and evaluation of potential impacts (direct, indirect, synergy, long-term, short term, temporaries, permanents, reversibles, irreversibles) of the implementation of the Plan, on several environmental parameters at the area of study and the implementation area, - The proposal of possible impact mitigation measures, - The proposal of an impact monitoring program during the implementation of the Plan on the basis of important environmental indices, as determined -Annexes with maps, photographs, legislation and supportive studies that already have been elaborated.
Our staff covered the preparation of a major part of the SEA study. In particular, the following tasks have been covered : Task 1 : Collection of data for the description of the existing conditions of environmental fields related to the objective of the program, Task 2: Environmental Impact Assessment of the proposed Plan including the cumulative, direct and indirect impacts on natural environment parameters (ecosystems, flora, fauna, ect), Task 3: Proposal for potential mitigation measures of the assessed environmental impacts on natural environment parameters (ecosystems, flora, fauna, ect), Task 4: Proposals for the establishment of a monitoring program with specific monitored indexes for the evaluation and quantification of the environmental impacts.
