Detailed Project Description


 

  • Determination of the Priority Axes of the program and correlation of its objectives
  • Description of the environmental fields of interest (e.g. biodiversity, water resources etc)
  • Determination of the environmental targets and indices on the basis of which the impacts of the program on the environment were assessed
  • Recording and assessment of the existing condition in the relevant environmental fields as well as of the trends and expected developments in the Environmental sector in Greece and Cyprus
  • Co-assessment of the priorities and environmental objectives and selection of the ones further analyzed
  • Assessment of the potential environmental impacts on the basis of environmental indices and in relation to the recommended measures and actions
  • Assessment of possible accumulative impacts of the program taking into account the indices, the objectives and analyzing the impacts on the measures and selected actions
  • Investigation of possible synergy impacts of the program per environmental field/ objective
  • Proposal of possible impact mitigation measures
  • Proposal for an impact monitoring program during the implementation of the program on the basis of important environmental indices, as determined



Important environmental issues:


 

  • Identification of the “red flags” concerning the impacts of the proposed program on the environment
  • Impacts of the proposed measures on the environmental means (water, air, soil, ecosystems, flora, fauna, etc)
  • Cumulative impacts of various measures and synergy impacts with the measures of other programs

 

Description of actual services provided by Enveco within the assignment


Our staff covered the preparation of the whole SEA study. In particular, the following tasks have been covered:


Task 1: Collection of data for the description of the existing conditions of environmental fields related to the objective of the program
Task 2: Environmental Impact Assessment of the proposed program including the cumulative, direct and indirect impacts.
Task 3: Proposal for potential mitigation measures of the assessed environmental impacts
Task 4: Proposals for the establishment of a monitoring program with specific monitored indexes for the evaluation and quantification of the environmental impacts
