Detailed Project Description:

 

The main objective of this project was the environmental approve of the drainage of several coastal areas in the Southeastern Attica, and the sewage treatment systems in the area of Palaia Fokea and Keratea.

 

The key social and environmental issues that have been tackled throughout the period of offering services were the following:

• Estimation of the polluting charge of the sewage and of the effluence based on the population of the areas at the three phases of the works

• Examination and presentation of water quality measurements that are held in the Saronikos gulf. 

• Comparison of the alternative solutions of the sewage drainage of the area.

• Examination of the impacts of the works on the Natura 2000 areas that exist in the region.

• Examination of the impacts of the works on the socioeconomic environment during the construction phase.

• Modeling and simulation of hydrodynamic qualities of the marine environment

 

 

Our staff covered the issues related to all phases of the preparation of the project. In particular, the following tasks have been covered:

 

Task 1: Methodology determination

Task 2: Determination of the schedule of the field work and of the overall project timetable

Task 3: Field work and sampling

Task 4: Impact assessment of the works on the environment 

Task 5: Determination of the mitigation measures proposed

Task 6: Composition of the final project study report and the related maps
